Boxers, Tommy Mc Carthy and Paddy Gallagher switched on the Christmas tree lights at 4pm on Saturday afternoon.

Santa arrived at 12 noon in a real life fire engine, courtesy of the Northern Ireland Fire Service, to the intense excitement of local children who received free gifts. A mini-market selling a wide array of goods was another feature of an event that was greatly enjoyed. A text received shortly after the fair by Paula Tolan, who was largely responsible for organising the event, gives a sense of the enjoyment and appreciation:

Harry Maher, SLIGStrategic Development Manager at the SLIG Christmas Fair“Thank you very much for today. We really enjoyed the whole event, so friendly and so well organised. Thanks again”.

Christmas carols, a rodeo bull, Kentucky Derby, face-painting and balloon-modelling were laid on to entertain the children. A Woman in Red who twirled a long ribbon on a stick dazzled onlookers with her amazing skills.
